More than a garden center
A family-run destination in Saint Stephen, NB — with a greenhouse, floral shop, and gift store all under one roof.
Our story
Mayfield Gardens was founded in 1980 by Peter and Norah Heelis — two people who loved plants, loved people, and wanted to build something lasting. What started as a passion project became one of New Brunswick's most beloved garden destinations.
Today, Andrea and Dwayne McCaffrey carry that same spirit forward. They took over a business rooted in community and grew it — while keeping everything that made it special in the first place.
Grown with care, season after season
With over 20,000 sq ft of greenhouse space and early seasonal growing, we carry a wide selection of plants, flowers, trees, and gardening essentials throughout the year.
Annuals & perennials
Seasonal colour for every garden style — from delicate pastels to bold statement plants.
Trees & shrubs
Hardy varieties selected for our New Brunswick climate and growing conditions.
Gardening supplies
Soils, mulches, fertilizers, tools — everything you need for a garden that thrives.
Worth the drive
People travel from all over New Brunswick to visit — and it's easy to see why. Walking through the greenhouses is an experience in itself. Everything is tended with real care, and it shows.
We also grow cut flowers right on the farm — which means some of what you'll find in the floral shop was growing here just days before.

Rooted in this community
In 1980, Peter and Norah Heelis planted the seeds of what would become Mayfield Gardens. Their love for horticulture and community grew into something that has lasted more than four decades — and continues to grow. Today, Andrea and Dwayne McCaffrey carry that legacy forward with the same warmth and dedication that made this place special from the start.
